I have experienced this sort of thing more times that I care to remember... and I wish I had, at those times, had the backbone to walk out and leave. I almost did a couple of months ago.

Everyone's emotions are running so high. There is so much strife and fear and pain in the world right now. People who would never dream of talking politics or religion at social gatherings simply can't help it these days. We are all thinking about it, all the time.

I am going to try and bury my head in the sand at Old Orchard Beach, Maine next week, just for a few days. I need a break from all this. You bet your goddamn campaign finance dollars I'll be back though. Refreshed. And dangerously powerful.
